Job Summary
Alecto Recruitment are representing a leading manufacturer of overhead cranes and hoists, supplying advanced lifting solutions to industries worldwide.
As a member of the UK&I sales team, you will manage the South of England, developing leads from enquiry to order. The role involves building strong relationships with end users, distributors, consultants, and service companies. You'll support the Business Manager in identifying new opportunities and shaping strategic direction. You'll engage with a wide range of customers-from SMEs to large contractors-and adapt your approach accordingly. Responsibilities span the full sales cycle, including helping to define strategies to meet sales targets.
Responsibilities and Duties
The role involves managing and growing the customer base within the South of England, identifying new business opportunities, and enhancing market presence. Key duties include handling sales enquiries, building strong customer relationships, preparing tender packages, supporting contract negotiations, and overseeing contracts from enquiry to completion. You'll also collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate processing of new orders.
You will deal with a multitude of different customers, ranging from crane resellers and distributors, large main contracting companies, through to SMEs; with an expectation of being able to adapt your approach to suit each customer.
Qualifications and Skills
3 years experience in a similar industry, preferably cranes (heavy plant/materials handling)
Ideally, well versed in using 2D/3D CAD software
Computer literate
Commercial awareness
Experience in a sales role ie. Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, Key Account Manager, Field Sales Representative
