About This Role
We are looking for a driven and technically capable Area Sales Manager to develop and grow sales opportunities across the South of the UK. This role focuses on the promotion, specification, and sale of a specialist range of magnetic separation and metal detection equipment suitable for use across both recycling, mining, minerals, food and packaging to name a few.
Key responsibilities include:
* Identifying and targeting key customers to increase brand visibility and market share.
* Developing and maintaining strong strategic relationships across industry sectors.
* Specifying and quoting suitable equipment solutions for customer applications.
* Proactively developing new business (approx. 60% of time spent on new account acquisition).
* Conducting technical site visits and surveys as needed.
* Keeping thorough records of all customer communications and opportunities using a CRM system.
* Collaborating closely with management to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
* Supporting the broader sales and technical teams with product expertise.
* Representing the company at domestic and international exhibitions and trade shows.
* Delivering training to customers, agents, and affiliates when necessary.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B/industrial sales.
* Background in supplying equipment for sectors such as food processing, packaging, or plastics is highly desirable.
* Proven track record in closing deals and securing long-term customer relationships.
* Strong negotiation, persuasion, and strategic planning skills.
* Experience in sales strategy development and implementation.
* Ability to independently manage and grow major customer accounts.
* Confident decision-maker with strong organizational and time management skills.
* Capable of meeting targets and deadlines while prioritizing multiple tasks.
* Willingness to travel extensively within the South of the UK (approx. 4 days per week).
* Openness to international travel.
* Committed to professional development and receptive to feedback and mentoring.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with internal teams and external clients
