The Opportunity An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an inspirational and highly creative Teacher of Art & Design to join the thriving department of a prestigious school in Richmond upon Thames. We seek an individual passionate about visual arts, capable of fostering deep artistic expression, technical skill, and critical appreciation in our bright, ambitious students, encouraging them to develop their unique artistic voice.
The Role You will be responsible for teaching Art & Design across Key Stages 3, 4 (IGCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level), ensuring a rigorous and creatively stimulating curriculum across various media. Your duties will include planning and delivering engaging practical lessons across various media and techniques, from drawing and painting to sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, and digital art. You'll nurture students' creativity, critical analysis, and technical skills, and support them in developing strong portfolios for examinations and future artistic pursuits. You'll also be expected to contribute significantly to the broader artistic life of the school, perhaps supervising extended projects, curating student exhibitions, leading art history clubs, or facilitating visits to London's renowned galleries and museums.
