Art & Design Technology Technician
Location: Newham, East London
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: Immediately
We are seeking a proactive and organised Art & Design Technology Technician to support our vibrant and creative departments in a dynamic secondary school in Newham.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting creative learning and enjoys working in a practical, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, maintain, and organise materials and equipment for Art and Design Technology lessons
Support teachers and students during practical sessions
Ensure all tools, machinery, and workspaces are safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Assist with displays of student work and exhibitions
Manage stock levels and place orders where necessary
Maintain workshop equipment, including basic repairs where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working in an Art, Design Technology, or workshop environment (school experience desirable but not essential)
Be highly organised with strong attention to detail
Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures in a practical setting
Be able to work independently and as part of a team
Show enthusiasm for supporting young people in a creative setting
