Job Description

A welcoming and artistically vibrant school in Stroud is looking to appoint a passionate Art ECT to join its thriving Art and Design department from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role suited to an ambitious early career teacher who wants to nurture creativity in a supportive and inclusive school environment. As an Art ECT, you will play a key role in shaping young people’s artistic journeys and will be encouraged to bring your own creative style to lessons. The school runs art exhibitions, gallery trips, and workshops, offering many opportunities to enhance the curriculum. As an Art ECT, your responsibilities will include: * Delivering high-quality Art lessons across KS3 and KS4 * Introducing students to a range of media, including drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and digital art * Helping students build their portfolios for assessment and exhibition * Supporting inclusive and differentiated teaching to meet diverse learning needs * Working with colleagues to plan schemes of work and develop resources * Participating in CPD and working closely with your ECT mentor * Promoting artistic opportunities beyond the classroom such as clubs and competitions * Being a visible and positive contributor to school life and values Ideal candidates for this Art ECT role will: * Have an Art or Fine Art degree and be completing their PGCE/QTS in 2025 * Be excited about creative teaching and nurturing student confidence * Be reflective, enthusiastic, and eager to develop professionally * Be committed to promoting diversity and expression through visual arts Start your teaching career as an Art ECT in a school that believes in the power of creativity to inspire, connect, and empower students
