Our school prides itself on fostering a culture of creativity and academic excellence, preparing students for success in the arts and beyond. Why Join This School? * Outstanding reputation for visual arts education and creative achievement: Our Art department is celebrated for its dynamic curriculum, diverse artistic offerings, and for consistently producing talented artists and engaging artworks. * Spacious, purpose-built art studios with excellent facilities: We provide well-equipped studios for drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, and digital art, ensuring students have access to a wide range of mediums and resources to support their artistic exploration. * A collaborative, supportive, and enthusiastic departmental culture: You will be joining a team of dedicated art educators who are passionate about their craft, committed to sharing innovative techniques, and supportive of each other's professional growth. * Forward-thinking leadership that champions the arts and creativity: Our leadership team actively promotes the central role of art within a holistic education and provides the autonomy and resources necessary for teachers to develop exciting and impactful artistic experiences. * Comprehensive CPD opportunities and clear pathways for career development: We invest in our staff's continuous professional development, offering training in new artistic mediums, digital software, and pedagogical approaches to keep our curriculum fresh and inspiring. * Strong focus on student wellbeing, self-expression, and an inclusive artistic environment: We prioritize nurturing well-rounded individuals, fostering self-expression, and providing a supportive atmosphere where all learners can explore their creativity and build confidence. The Role: * Teach Art and Design across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the exciting potential for teaching Key Stage 5 (A-Level Fine Art, Photography, or Graphic Design) for candidates with relevant experience and expertise. * Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and meticulously structured lessons that inspire artistic curiosity, develop practical skills in various mediums, explore art history, and encourage critical analysis and personal interpretation. * Contribute actively to the enrichment of art education through organizing and leading extracurricular activities such as art clubs, gallery visits, competitions, and preparing student work for exhibitions and displays. * Support student progress through effective assessment and constructive feedback on artistic projects, portfolios, and theoretical understanding, carefully monitoring individual development and guiding students towards their artistic potential. * Collaborate enthusiastically with colleagues in curriculum planning and departmental development, actively participating in meetings, contributing innovative project ideas, and helping to shape the future of Art education within the school. The Ideal Candidate: * A qualified Art Teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a strong academic background in Fine Art or a related artistic discipline. * Possesses excellent subject knowledge across various artistic mediums and techniques and an undeniable passion for inspiring artistic talent and appreciation. * Committed to inclusive and student-centred teaching practices, ensuring that every student feels confident and capable in developing their artistic abilities and expressing themselves creatively. * Able to inspire imagination, technical skill, and a genuine love for art in students of all abilities, from beginners to aspiring artists. * Willing to engage fully and enthusiastically in the wider life of the school community, embracing opportunities to contribute to school exhibitions, cultural events, and other artistic initiatives. * Hold an Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one) and be able to provide two satisfactory professional references.
