Job Description

PRU/SEMH School Full time  Term time only  Art Teacher    Are you a creative, passionate Art Teacher who thrives in nurturing the talents of students who think differently? This School is a specialist Pupil Referral Unit in Brent, supporting young people who have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream education. The School provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students are empowered to re-engage with learning and build confidence through creativity. They are currently seeking a dedicated Art Teacher who can bring energy, empathy, and innovation to their small but committed team. The role  Deliver high-quality, inclusive Art lessons across KS3 and KS4 Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs, including SEMH, Autism, and ADHD Foster creativity and self-expression in students, helping them build confidence and resilience Plan and deliver lessons that align with curriculum expectations while also supporting emotional development Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure students are fully supported Contribute to a positive and restorative school culture where every child feels valued They role requires  Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) Experience teaching Art in mainstream or alternative provisions A calm, patient, and creative teaching style Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, particularly in SEMH settings A passion for helping vulnerable young people reach their potential The School  This School is welcoming and has an inclusive working environment. There are small class sizes with excellent support from experienced staff. You get ongoing CPD and training opportunities tailored to SEMH practice and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
