We are seeking a motivated and creative Art Technician to join our vibrant Art Department at our dynamic secondary school in the heart of Tower Hamlets. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about the visual arts and keen to support young people in expressing their creativity.
About the Role
As our Art Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning by ensuring that materials, equipment, and classroom spaces are well-prepared, safe, and inspiring. Working closely with both staff and students, you'll help create a stimulating environment where art can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain art materials and equipment for lessons and practical sessions
Assist teachers in setting up displays and exhibitions of student work
Ensure safe storage and handling of tools and art supplies
Support students during practical lessons, encouraging safe and effective working
Help maintain the cleanliness and organisation of art classrooms and resources
We're looking for someone who:
Has a background or strong interest in art and design
Is practical, organised, and resourceful
Enjoys working with young people in a creative environment
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
Is proactive and takes initiative in maintaining a productive learning space
