The role of Asbestos Analyst:
* Air Monitoring: Performing air monitoring to detect asbestos fibres during and after removal or other work with asbestos-containing materials.
* Air Sampling and Analysis: Collecting and analysing samples of asbestos-containing materials to identify the type and extent of asbestos presence.
* Clearance Testing: Conducting 4-stage clearances and reassurance tests after asbestos removal to ensure the area is safe for reoccupation.
* Reporting and Documentation: Preparing detailed reports of findings, including air monitoring results, sample analysis, and clearance certificates.
* Client and Contractor Liaison: Communicating with clients and contractors to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure smooth operations.
* Technical Advice: Providing technical advice on asbestos management and control measures to clients and contractors.
* Quality Management: Adhering to quality management and assurance processes to maintain high standards of work.
The requirements for the Asbestos Analyst:
Relevant Qualifications:
* Possession of qualifications such as BOHS P402, P403, and P404 or equivalent is a must.
* Must have 2 years’ experience working as an Asbestos Analyst demonstrating competence in asbestos surveying and analysis.
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in using specialized equipment for air monitoring and sample analysis.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to asbestos management and safety.
* Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work, including sampling, analysis, and reporting.
* Knowledge of Regulations: Thorough understanding of relevant asbestos legislation, health and safety guidelines, and industry best practices.
* Flexibility: Ability to work on different client sites, adapt to varying work schedules, and travel for work to undertake the asbestos analysis role. A full UK driving license is required with the ability to travel outside of territory when required.
* Computer literate and able to use a tablet and other IT equipment to complete work.
* Full right to work in the UK 40 hours per week permanently without requiring any Visa sponsorship.
