ASD Specialist Year 6 Teacher – SEN School (Hounslow)
Location: Hounslow | Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Maternity Cover (with potential to go permanent by October half-term)
Salary: Paid to Scale (MPS/UPS)
Parking: On-site, free parking available
Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher with a specialism in Autism (ASD)?

We are working with an Outstanding all-through SEN School in Hounslow that is seeking a dedicated Year 6 ASD Specialist Teacher to join their team from September. This is a maternity cover position with real potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Teaching a Year 6 class of students with ASD, including both verbal and non-verbal pupils
* Creating a highly structured, visual, and engaging learning environment
* Using strategies including PECS, Makaton, and other communication supports
* Collaborating with a team of skilled TAs and therapists to deliver personalised learning
* Tracking pupil progress and contributing to EHCP reviews
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – UK recognised
* Extensive experience teaching pupils with ASD in a specialist or SEN setting
* Confident using PECS, Makaton, and other structured communication tools
* Deep understanding of sensory needs, behaviour support strategies, and individual learning styles
* UK Right to Work – sponsorship not available
