ASD Teacher – Primary Autism Unit, Lambeth
Location: Lambeth, London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: £104 per day
The Role
We are partnering with a specialist primary autism unit in Lambeth to recruit a passionate ASD Teacher. You will lead and deliver a high-quality, inclusive curriculum for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across the primary age range, ensuring each child reaches their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
As the ASD Teacher, you will:
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of children with ASD.
Lead a team of Teaching Assistants and support staff to implement individual learning plans (ILPs).
Develop strategies to support communication, social interaction, and behaviour across the school day.
Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and provide reports to school leadership.
Promote a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.About the School / Unit

The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching children with ASD or SEN.
Strong understanding of autism and strategies to support learning, behaviour, and communication.
Excellent classroom management and leadership skills.
Empathy, patience, and creativity in delivering a personalised curriculum.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
