The Role
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Hull for an Assembly Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company that designs and manufactures specialist equipment for customers across a range of industries.
Working as part of the engineering team, you'll be responsible for assembling, testing, servicing and installing mechanical access platforms, ensuring all equipment meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work and solving technical challenges.
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble and commission mechanical access platforms.
* Carry out servicing, repairs and planned maintenance.
* Install equipment at customer sites when required.
* Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
* Inspect, test and ensure all products meet quality standards.
* Work closely with the wider production and engineering teams.
* Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
* Previous experience in a mechanical or engineering assembly environment.
* Strong working knowledge of Hydraulics, Mechanial , and Electrical Systems
* Strong practical mechanical skills.
* The ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
* Good problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Desirable Skills
* Experience working with:
* Mechanical assemblies
* Access platforms
* Plant or industrial machinery
* Hydraulic or pneumatic systems
* Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent).
