Welder/ Fitter Location: Widnes Salary: £42,000 – £43,000 per year + Performance-Based Pay Rises Shifts: Monday to Friday – Double Days (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm) Are you a hands-on Fitter and competent welder who takes pride in quality workmanship? Your responsibilities will include: Repairing and maintaining mechanical systems such as pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics Welding and fabricating (MIG & Stick) components and parts for plant machinery – welding is a significant part of this role Setting up, aligning, and assembling machinery, moulds, and tampers with precision Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency What We’re Looking For NVQ Level 2 or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Welding Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and fitting Must be a competent welder – MIG & Stick welding are essential and form a large portion of this role Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is an advantage Proactive, adaptable, and a strong team player with a focus on quality and safety This is more than just another fitter job — it’s a chance to build a long-term, rewarding career with ongoing training, recognition, and genuine progression opportunities.
