Teaching Assistants - SEMH Secondary School
Start Date: Immediate or September 2025
Contract: Full-Time | Temp to Perm
Are you a passionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs?
We are working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking SEMH secondary school in Greenwich that is looking to appoint dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team either immediately or for a September start.
This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity - perfect for someone who thrives in a structured yet dynamic environment and is committed to making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting students with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom
Managing challenging behaviour in a calm, confident, and consistent manner
Assisting with the implementation of personalised learning and behaviour plans
Promoting emotional well-being and positive social interaction
Requirements:
Previous experience working in an SEMH or alternative provision setting is essential
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
