💼 About the Role
As a Social Worker in Surrey, you will play a vital role in promoting the welfare of children and supporting families to make positive changes. You will work in partnership with families, using motivational interviewing and strength-based approaches to assess needs, reduce risks, and develop SMART plans that lead to better outcomes.
You will be part of a team that values reflective supervision, collaborative working, and continuous professional development.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
Conduct assessments and develop care plans in partnership with children and families.
Lead child protection investigations and support families through change.
Work with partners to deliver integrated support and monitor progress.
Initiate legal proceedings when necessary to safeguard children.
Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with best practice.
Promote the voice of the child in all aspects of planning and decision-making.
🎓 About You
We're looking for someone who is:
A qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW or equivalent) and registered with Social Work England.
Experienced in working with children and families in a statutory setting.
Skilled in motivational interviewing and strength-based practice.
Knowledgeable about UK child care law and safeguarding procedures.
A strong communicator with excellent partnership working skills.
