Assessment Social Worker – Children’s Services
Location: Oxfordshire (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £37,938 – £43,693 per annum
Welcome & Loyalty Payment: £3,500
Relocation Package: Up to £8,000
Contract: Permanent | Full-Time

About the Role
As an Assessment Social Worker, you’ll be part of a supportive and experienced team responsible for:
*
Carrying out timely, thoughtful Child and Family Assessments
*
Working as part of a duty rota receiving new referrals from the MASH
*
Leading Section 47 child protection investigations when required
*
Working closely with children, families and multi-agency partners
*
Ensuring each family receives a proportionate, child-focused response
*
Contributing to Oxfordshire’s commitment to the Family Safeguarding Model
*
Making informed decisions and passing cases forward with strong planning in place
About You
We’re looking for confident, child-focused professionals who bring:
*
Registration with Social Work England
*
A recognised Social Work qualification
*
Completion of the ASYE (or equivalent experience)
*
Experience in statutory children’s services, ideally in an assessment or safeguarding team
*
A strong understanding of child development, risk analysis and partnership working
*
Excellent communication, empathy and professional curiosity
*
Commitment to providing a respectful, evidence-based and impactful service
