This vacancy, the result of the current incumbent moving jobs for career progression will report into the head of finance and will work within a small finance team 5 days per week in the office.
The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to provide support to the head of finance to free up their time to deliver on a number of projects and process improvements to aid efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function. The role holder will be accountable for the day-to-day tasks of the finance function with a focus on the payables side of the function.
On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Using the companies ERP system, you will be responsible for processing purchase ledger invoices.
Oversight and maintenance of the supplier ledger ensuring that reconciliations are completed and that payment runs are made within internal policies.
Working closely with the head of finance to ensure that accruals and prepayments are processed.
Ensure that month end tasks such as balance sheet reconciliations are completed within critical time frames.
Assurance that income is optimised and that controls are in place to monitor this.
The Requirements
Ideally, we are seeking an AAT qualified, ACCA part qualified or a CIMA part qualified assistant accountant who has a minimum of 4 years’ experience of working in a similar role (within the UK). Our client has indicated that they would consider applicants who are qualified by experience, however they would have to tick all the boxes and be able to demonstrate excellent accounting skills. From a personal perspective, we are looking for a candidate who will go the extra mile. A candidate who has the drive and determination to make things happen as well as someone who can add a bit of personality into the team.
Our client does not hold a license to offer study support so will only consider applicants who are able to work unrestricted within the UK and who are based in the immediate vicinity.
