Assistant Accountant – Remote / Hybrid

Location: Remote / Hybrid (UK-based preferred)

Salary: £14 – £18 per hour (£28,000 – £36,000 equivalent)

About the Role:

As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders and contribute to maintaining financial records, reconciliations, and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts

·      Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations

·      Process invoices, payments, and expense records

·      Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

·      Support accounts payable and receivable functions

·      Assist with audits and financial reporting requirements

·      Ensure compliance with financial procedures and controls

What We’re Looking For:

·      Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role

·      Strong understanding of basic accounting principles

·      High attention to detail and numerical accuracy

·      Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)

·      Strong Excel skills

·      Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Nice to Have:

·      Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)

·      Experience in a fast-paced or multi-entity environment

·      Exposure to financial reporting and analysis
