Major Recruitment is partnering with an established manufacturer and they are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team.

Position: Assistant Accountant
Salary: £34,000 - £35,000 depending on experience + benefits, free on-site parking
Full time Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
Location: East Kilbride
What they do:
A well-established, manufacturer business in East Kilbride is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join its finance team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passed AAT or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) looking to grow their experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The company operates across multiple UK sites and supplies major retailers and foodservice providers. Known for its commitment to quality, sustainability and innovation, the East Kilbride site plays a key role in the group's operations.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation)
Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register
Assist in producing monthly management accounts and KPI reports
Contribute to statutory reporting and audit preparation
Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, and other HMRC submissions
Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate cost reporting
Support budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives✅ What We're Looking For:
AAT qualified or part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
1-2 years' experience in a finance role, ideally in manufacturing or FMCG
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail and analytical mindset
