Job Description

Location: Stanford-le-Hope, Essex 
 Salary: £60,000.00 + car allowance
 Summary: 
 A proactive and driven Assistant Branch Manager is required to support the leadership of our clients 155,000 sq ft logistics and cross-dock operation, employing around 100 staff across warehouse, transport, and operational functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into senior operational leadership within a fast-paced, modern logistics environment.
 Key Responsibilities:
 In this role, you will support the Branch Manager with the day-to-day running of warehouse and transport operations, including:

Ensuring smooth operational alignment across Transport, Warehouse, and Logistics teams.
Managing, motivating, and supporting teams across warehouse, drivers, and operational staff.
Achieving operational KPIs, productivity goals, and high service levels.
Upholding high standards of health & safety, compliance, and best practice.
Working closely with customers and internal teams to maintain performance and service quality.
Supporting labour planning, shift performance, and staffing requirements.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across transport and cross-dock operations.
Assisting with management of the branch P&L, labour costs, operations spend, and productivity.
Helping develop operational strategy and drive performance enhancements.Experience:
 We're looking for a strong people leader with:

Proven experience in warehouse and logistics management.
Experience managing large operational teams within logistics or distribution.
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and organisational skills.
Solid understanding of transport, warehouse, and logistics operations.
Experience with WMS systems and operational KPIs.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Experience within 3PL environments; logistics/transport qualifications (e.g. CILT); and managing multi-function logistics operations would be desirableProcessing Your Data
