Assistant Finance Controller
Location: Cannock, UK
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 + Benefits
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Are you a qualified or part-qualified accountant looking for the next step in your career? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business and play a pivotal role in supporting financial excellence across multiple UK sites.
Reporting directly to the UK Finance Director, the Assistant Finance Controller will be instrumental in ensuring accurate reporting, effective cash flow management, and strategic business planning. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of financial activities while contributing to system improvements and process efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Support the UK FD in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting.
*
Assist with budgets, forecasting, and year-end close, including external audit coordination.
*
Manage cash flow planning, P&L reporting, and margin analysis.
*
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
*
Drive process improvements and support the implementation of a new finance system across 3 UK sites.
*
Provide analysis to support strategic decision-making and margin improvement.
About You:
*
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or finalist (AAT also considered).
*
Strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial awareness.
*
Effective communicator, able to work with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
*
Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident managing your own projects.
*
Experience in multi-site or American-owned organisations desirable.
*
Sage and Efacs knowledge an advantage (not essential).
