The Role As Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the store - helping to lead the team, maintain high retail standards, and deliver an outstanding customer experience. Key Responsibilities: Support the owners in leading and motivating the team. Ensure the store is well-stocked, beautifully presented, and running smoothly. Take shared responsibility for rotas, staffing levels, one-to-ones, and team development. Deliver expert advice to customers on plants and garden care. Oversee plant deliveries, replenishment, and in-store merchandising. Maintain high standards of health & safety and visual presentation. Contribute to recruitment, training, and performance reviews. Lead by example on the shop floor - this is a hands-on role. About You Strong horticultural knowledge. Experience working in a garden centre, plant-focused retail, or design-led boutique store. Confident leading a small team in a busy, customer-facing setting. Organised, energetic, and solutions-focused - someone who thrives on the shop floor. Passionate about plants, gardening, and creating welcoming retail environments. Able to support team performance and coach others to improve.
