This is a hands-on, practical growing role with the opportunity to make a real impact as the business enters its next phase.
You'll work closely with the owners, supporting all aspects of growing and production across the glasshouses and polytunnels.
From propagation and transplanting to crop health and planning, you'll help keep everything running smoothly throughout the year.
Day to day, you'll:
Support the day-to-day management of nursery production and growing schedules.
Assist in planning propagation, transplanting, and crop timings for bedding and hanging basket production.
Supervise and support 2-3 seasonal staff during the busy spring/summer months.
Maintain high plant health standards, spotting and resolving issues early.
Support with ordering growing media, chemicals, and consumables.
Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate growing records.
Operate and maintain nursery machinery, including irrigation systems and transplanters.
Take on general site maintenance during quieter winter months.
Work collaboratively with the wider team and uphold site safety standards.It's a varied, physical role that'll suit someone who enjoys being in the greenhouse, getting stuck in, and taking real ownership of their work.
About You
Experience working on a commercial growing nursery (bedding or pack plant experience ideal, but happy to train if you have experience with other crops)
Confident with general crop husbandry, propagation, and irrigation
Hands-on, organised, and practical with strong attention to detail
Able to supervise and motivate a small seasonal team.
Great communicator with a positive, respectful approach
PA1, PA6, and/or forklift licence would be beneficial (training can be provided)
Strong plant knowledge and a genuine passion for horticulture
Comfortable working closely with a small, family-led team where everyone pulls together.
