Assistant Harvesting Manager
Location: YO43
We are seeking an Assistant Harvesting Manager to join our well-established and growing team based in YO43. In this key role, you will work closely with the Harvesting Manager to support the smooth and efficient running of harvesting operations. This includes meeting KPIs, planning and managing staff rotas, ensuring training is up to date, and maintaining high health, safety, and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Train, coach, and mentor team members and supervisors to achieve target pick rates.
* Ensure all products meet the highest quality standards and comply with production parameters.
* Attend daily planning meetings and coordinate staffing, production schedules, and working hours for the following day.
* Promptly report any operational issues to the Harvesting Manager.
* Identify and resolve any issues affecting the performance or safety of plant and equipment.
* Promote industry best practices and the adoption of new technologies, where appropriate.
* Uphold and reinforce food safety culture, ensuring all legislative, guideline, and company policy requirements are met.
* Actively participate as a member of the site’s Food Safety, HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP teams.
* Promote and adhere to best practices in health, safety, and quality standards.
Key Requirements
* Previous supervisory experience within a fresh produce environment.
* Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
* Numerate with solid IT skills.
* A proactive, flexible team player.
* Advanced Food Hygiene certification and degree-level qualifications are desirable.
