The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Residential Property Solicitor or Conveyancer ready to step into a leadership role without losing the fee-earning side of the job?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established residential property team in Banbury, supporting the Head of Department with the day-to-day running, development and performance of the team, while continuing to manage your own caseload.
This would suit a senior conveyancer who enjoys mentoring others, getting involved in business development and taking more responsibility within a department.
The Role
You'll have a varied role combining team management, technical support and fee earning, including:
Supporting the Head of Department with day-to-day team management.
Supporting junior colleagues with complex matters and technical queries.
Conducting performance and file reviews.
Helping with training, development plans and mentoring.
Managing your own busy residential caseload.
Handling sales, purchases, transfers of equity, shared ownership and leasehold matters.
Supporting departmental business development and networking activities.
Working towards agreed targets and KPIs.
Assisting with complaints and risk management where required.
Ensuring compliance with AML, CQS and Lexcel requirements.
Representing the department at meetings when required.
Leading the team in the absence of the Head of Department.
About You
We're looking for a senior residential conveyancer with:
5+ years' PQE or equivalent experience as a Solicitor, CILEX or CLC.
Strong experience across a broad residential conveyancing caseload.
Previous experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior team members.
Strong technical knowledge of residential conveyancing and CQS requirements.
Excellent client care and communication skills.
Good commercial awareness and understanding of KPIs.
Confidence contributing to business development and networking.
Strong organisation and the ability to work independently.
Good knowledge of AML, SRA requirements and data protection.
Experience with case management systems and Microsoft Office.
Full driving licence and access to a car.
