Integrity Education Solutions is proud to be supporting a unique and independent specialist education provider based in London, offering therapeutic education to children and young people with special educational needs and neurodiverse profiles. This dynamic and inclusive school is seeking a passionate, resilient, and experienced Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion & Safeguarding) to join their leadership team within their specialist provision in West London from September 2025. This is a pivotal role, ideal for a driven professional with a strong background in safeguarding, inclusion, and behaviour leadership, looking to make a tangible impact on the lives of vulnerable learners. Working closely with the Deputy Headteacher and wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will lead the operational delivery of inclusion, safeguarding, behaviour, and attendance, ensuring that all pupils are supported to reach their full potential. As Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), you will manage safeguarding processes and lead the FAST (Families and School Together) provision, coordinating family liaison and multi-agency interventions for pupils with complex needs. Key Responsibilities Safeguarding and Family Support * Serve as the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education. * Lead the FAST provision, managing a complex caseload of families requiring intensive intervention. * Oversee Early Help, CIN, CP, and LAC planning, and maintain strong multi-agency collaboration. * Refer safeguarding concerns appropriately and manage allegations against staff in consultation with the Headteacher. * Champion professional curiosity and best practice in safeguarding across the school, including new staff induction and training. Behaviour and Inclusion * Promote a positive and inclusive school culture, supporting pupils with ASC, SEMH, and other neurodiverse needs. * Develop and implement whole-school strategies for behaviour management, de-escalation, and emotional regulation. * Lead behaviour incident analysis and improvement strategies aligned with school policy and toolkits. * Ensure staff understand and apply behaviour policies, and that risk assessments are in place and regularly reviewed. Attendance * Monitor and analyse pupil attendance data; lead strategic interventions to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence. * Collaborate with families and external agencies to address barriers affecting pupil attendance. Inclusion and Quality Assurance * Lead initiatives that promote neurodiversity awareness and inclusive teaching strategies across the school. * Work with the Clinical and Inclusion Team to identify and implement individual and group-level interventions. * Continuously monitor and evaluate safeguarding, behaviour, attendance, and inclusion outcomes using the school’s Quality Assurance Framework. * Ensure the school is consistently prepared for internal audits and Ofsted inspections. Partnerships and Leadership * Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, local authorities, and external professionals. * Identify staff training needs and lead relevant CPD in safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion. * Support performance management and mentoring of pastoral staff, including line management of Pastoral Care Coordinators and Alumni Peer Mentors. Key qualifications / education required: * Degree-level professional qualification in Social Work or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS). * Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a DSL, ideally within a specialist SEN setting. * Significant experience working with pupils with complex needs, including those at risk of exploitation, gang involvement, or presenting with Tier 3/4 mental health needs. * Demonstrable success in leading inclusive education and improving outcomes for neurodiverse learners. * Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, multi-agency working, and risk management processes.
