Assistant Merchandiser (FTC - US Project) | London | £40,000 + Benefits & Hybrid Working Contract: Fixed Term Contract (FTC) Are you facing redundancy, recently out of role, or looking to re-enter the industry? This FTC role has been created to support a special US project, giving you a chance to play a pivotal part in a brand-defining initiative while developing your merchandising skills in a high-growth, supportive environment. The Role As an Assistant Merchandiser, you will take ownership of line cards and volume management, ensuring that stock, sales, and forecasts are tightly controlled and aligned to business strategy. You'll support the wider merchandising team in achieving departmental sales, markdown, intake, and profit targets. Key Responsibilities Own and manage line cards, ensuring accuracy and visibility across all categories. Continuously review and update forecasts to reflect trade performance, protecting volume and availability. Monitor stock vs sales performance across all platforms and partners, providing weekly visibility to the wider team. Analyse margin by line, protecting new product profitability alongside Buying & Merchandising. Support trading decisions by recommending and implementing markdowns and promotions. Safeguard Never Out of Stock lines through precise forecasting and intake planning. Place balanced order quantities that build strong, well-structured ranges with clear hero and core lines. Prepare lessons-learnt decks each season to shape future strategy. Work closely with product, buying, and partner teams to align with trading calendars. Manage administrative tasks including data uploads, actualised sales tracking, and reporting. Lead by example in the development of junior team members, motivating and setting clear goals. Ensure stock is in the right place, at the right time, to achieve commercial targets. What We're Looking For Previous experience as an Assistant Merchandiser or Junior Merchandiser Strong analytical skills with proven experience managing line cards and volume planning. A proactive, commercial mindset with the ability to spot trading opportunities. Confident communicator who can work cross-functionally with Buying, Product, and external partners. Highly organised, detail-driven, and comfortable with fast-paced environments. A supportive team player who enjoys developing and motivating junior colleagues. Why Join?
