IMH Recruitment are looking for an Assistant Plan Co-ordinator to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You’ll work with the Local Authority and Early Help Team to make sure statutory duties are met, particularly around Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. This is a varied role where you’ll provide administrative, casework, and customer support.
Duties:
* Handle customer enquiries (phone, email, face-to-face), including sensitive situations, with professionalism.
* Provide advice and guidance on SEN processes to families, schools, and professionals.
* Help prepare and support statutory assessment panels, including case tracking, agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
* Assist with documentation for panels, appeals, and tribunal cases.
* Process and track applications for assessments and reviews within statutory timescales.
* Maintain accurate case records and ensure data is stored confidentially.
* Work with colleagues, schools, and external partners to ensure good outcomes for children and young people.
* Produce reports and statistical information when required.
* Manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines and performance targets.
* Handle complaints and challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Qualifications:
* A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience working with confidential or sensitive information.
* Strong administrative and customer service skills.
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online systems.
* Some knowledge of Special Educational Needs.
* Understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
* Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work well under pressure and manage complex information.
* Emotionally resilient when handling sensitive or difficult cases.
* Willingness to travel locally if needed.
* A driving licence is preferred but not essential.
Hours & Pay:
* Monday–Friday (specific working hours to be discussed at interview).
* Hybrid role – office attendance in Barnsley on Mondays and Thursdays.
* £13.26 per hour.
* Weekly pay.
