Job Description

Astute's EPC Power team is partnering with a leading Operator in the Power Industry to recruit an Assistant Plant Operator on an initial 3 months contract basis for it's Operational Energy from Waste plant in Exeter. 

The Assistant Plant Operator contract position comes with a day rate from £350.00 to £400.00 per day inside of IR35.

Key skills and responsibilities: 

Monitoring and operating plant equipment, to ensure efficient and continuous plant operations.
Make plant rounds/inspections to check conditions of plant equipment and records operational data on log sheets.
Operation of handing systems including remote access cranes, traffic management systems and other mobile plant equipment
Conduct some basic maintenance tasks as required.
Proficient with the use of hand tools
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Well-rounded general skills with an understanding of plant
Strong communication skills with a logical approach to problem solving
Practical skills including basic fitting or similar would be an advantage, but not essential.
CPCS card other Plant operators licences would be an advantage (forklift/telehandler)
Good understanding of industrial Health & Safety practices would be an advantage
DCS/SCADA experience on an operational plant.

£350.00 to £400.00 per day (Inside IR35)
Start date - August 2026
