Interim Assistant Principal – Behaviour, Attendance & Pastoral
Location: West Midlands
Contract: September – December 2025 (initially)
Sector: Secondary
We are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in the West Midlands for an Interim Assistant Principal to lead on behaviour, attendance and pastoral care.
The Role
Lead on whole-school behaviour strategy, attendance improvement and pastoral systems
Support and guide staff in maintaining high standards and consistent practice
Work closely with students, families and external agencies to promote wellbeing
Contribute to senior leadership planning and strategic development
The School
Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ secondary school with excellent outcomes
High-performing, inclusive and well-led environment
Established, stable staff team with strong leadership support
Positive culture with clear values and high expectations
The Candidate
Experienced senior leader with a focus on behaviour and pastoral care
Proven track record of improving attendance and behaviour outcomes
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
NPQSL or NPQH (or working towards) is desirable
