We are recruiting for an Assistant Project Accountant to join a busy and expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong grounding in finance and accounting who enjoys working with project-based financial data, supporting month-end processes, and partnering with stakeholders across the business. The Opportunity Working closely with senior finance professionals, you'll play a key role in supporting the accounting and reporting behind a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from short-term assignments through to large-scale, multi-year contracts. This is a varied and hands-on role offering exposure to: 
✅ Revenue recognition and contract accounting 
✅ Project cost accounting and financial reporting 
✅ Month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations 
✅ Work in progress (WIP), accrued and deferred revenue accounting 
✅ Client invoicing and payment applications 
✅ Timesheet, utilisation and project performance reporting 
✅ Financial analysis and project profitability reporting 
✅ Audit support and year-end preparation 
✅ Process improvement and systems development initiatives 

Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly project accounting schedules and revenue calculations Maintain WIP, accrued income and deferred revenue reporting Support month-end close activities, journals and reconciliations Assist with project cost accruals and project profitability analysis Produce project reporting and financial insights for stakeholders Monitor timesheet accuracy and utilisation reporting Process client invoices and support query resolution Reconcile project ledgers and investigate variances Support finance process improvements and system enhancements About You We're keen to hear from candidates with experience in: Assisting in Project accounting, Assisting in management accounts, financial accounting or contract accounting environments Month-end processes, reconciliations and journal preparation Revenue recognition, WIP accounting or project reporting ERP systems and strong Excel skills Working with large volumes of financial and operational data Building relationships across finance and operational teams
