Job Title: Assistant Project Manager - Water

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading project delivery team for a tier 1 contractor to South West Water based in Bristol. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will work closely with a Project Manager on single or multiple projects, taking ownership of governance, client-facing outputs, and supply chain relationships. You'll act as the PM's deputy, supporting the delivery of enhanced safety, quality, environmental outcomes, customer satisfaction, and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager in ensuring all legal, health, safety, and industry standards are met.
- Administer the Project Management Plan and ensure quality assurance is embedded throughout.
- Take a lead role in project governance, managing contract documentation and client-facing outputs.
- Manage supply chain relationships, supporting with cost control, notifications, and scope changes.
- Ensure project outputs and updates are cascaded effectively to design and construction teams.
- Represent the Project Manager at client meetings, reporting on progress, issues, and actions.
- Monitor risks, escalate issues, and support continuous improvement against project KPIs.
- Assist with resource planning and progress reporting across teams and supply chain partners.
What They're Looking For:
- Educated to HND/HNC level with relevant professional or management qualifications.
- Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM duty holder responsibilities.
- H&S qualifications such as SMSTS, IOSH, or NEBOSH.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. APM, CMI, ICE) and working towards chartership.
- Experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Confident communicator with resilience, self-motivation, and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong leadership and management skills with a full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience working on water treatment projects.
- Knowledge of digital delivery tools and modern project management systems.
