Kenton Black are recruiting for a permanent Assistant Quantity Surveyor role in Aberdeen.
Our client, a leading housebuilder with a strong presence in residential construction, is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This role offers the opportunity to support the financial management of housing developments and gain valuable experience across all stages of construction delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing costs across residential projects from tender through to final account
- Support in preparing bills of quantities, subcontract packages, and valuation reports
- Ensure commercial aspects of contracts are maintained effectively under guidance of senior surveyors
- Help identify and manage potential commercial risks and opportunities
- Collaborate with site teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery
- Contribute to accurate reporting and forecasting of project costs and budgets
- Provide support in client and subcontractor meetings, ensuring clear communication of commercial matters
What You Bring:
- Some experience in a commercial or construction environment, ideally within housebuilding
- Working knowledge of construction contracts and procedures is advantageous
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or currently working towards professional qualification
- A proactive, enthusiastic approach with excellent communication and teamwork skills
