One of Europe’s leading specialist contractors that operates in the data centre and life sciences sector and self-delivers CSA packages for some of the industries leading general contractors, is actively seeking a diligent and competent Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a brand new project in Amsterdam.
The project in question is a hyperscale data centre with a complex CSA package. The general contractor is a market leader and the client is a globally renowned operator.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large scale civils projects on time and within budget. Data centre experience is not essential but of course desirable. The data centre sector is the fastest growing sector in construction at present, there is no better time to be getting into the sector. This coupled with the increased emphasis that this client has put on their data centre division, makes an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant QS to fast track their career to project management level.
Responsibilities:

Assisting in the preparation of detailed cost plans, estimates, and budgets across all project stages
*
Supporting procurement and tendering processes, including subcontractor package management
*
Monitoring and controlling project costs to ensure financial targets are met
*
Evaluating and agreeing on valuations, variations, and final accounts with subcontractors
*
Providing commercial support and advice to project and site teams
*
Liaising effectively with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
*
Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and relevant statutory regulations
*
Collaborating with the Project Manager to identify, forecast, and report cost risks
Requirements:
*
A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline
*
A minimum of 4 years’ post-graduate experience, ideally with a main contractor
*
Experience working on data centres or mission-critical projects (highly desirable)
*
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management practices
*
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
*
EU citizenship or the legal right to work in Germany (mandatory)
