Job Description
Atheray Stone are currently looking to recruit a Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work for a profitable Main Contractor who work across a variety of disciplines including Building & Infrastructure.
Working within their established Water Business, an opportunity has arisen for an AQS or Graduate with 6+ months experience to join the commercial team on the AMP8 Thames Water Framework.
This will require tracel across the Thames Valley Region circa 3/4 days per week, but mainly across Oxfordshire & Berkshire Regions.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with the timely preparation and submission of main contract payment applications and support cash collection, as well as assess subcontractor payment applications and issue Pay Less Notices where applicable
* Assist in preparing draft subcontracts as delegated by the supervisor, including issuing enquiries, reviewing quotations and using company databases like Constructionline to pre-screen subcontractors for quality and safety compliance.
* Support senior staff in monitoring subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project standards
* Assist in pricing variations by thoroughly assessing cost impacts, including those resulting from design changes, to ensure all elements are accurately captured’
* Participate in recording delays and preparing extension of time requests, using programme knowledge and critical path methodology to assess impacts’
* To participate in the settlement of main contract final accounts
* To assist senior staff in the compilation of data to monitor individual contract performance on a monthly and quarterly basis
* Support the development of Trainee QS’s through supervision of allocated tasks, mentoring, and providing guidance to help build their technical and commercial skills’
Candidate Profile
* Degree / HNC Qualified in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management or similar
* At least 6 months - 1 year experience within industry as Grad QS or AQS
* Live locally to Reading / Oxfordshire
* Holding a full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role
* Basic / Intermediate level NEC Contract knowledge would be beneficial
