Job Description
Service care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a high-profile Public Inquiry (Sheku Bayoh Inquiry) for an experienced Solicitor to join their Inquiry Legal Team as an Assistant Solicitor. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a significant piece of public work, contributing to legal proceedings at a national level.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Chair, Counsel, and Senior Solicitors with the analysis of large volumes of documentation.
Review evidence for relevance to the Inquiry’s Terms of Reference.
Assist in preparing legal submissions and advice for the Chair.
Provide support in all court-related matters, including Court of Session work.
Contribute to the archiving of Inquiry materials and ensure compliance with FOI and Data Protection legislation.
Maintain and update spreadsheets and trackers used to manage key legal documents and evidence.Requirements:
Valid Scottish Practising Certificate.
Previous experience working in a Public Inquiry or in support of a core participant (highly desirable).
Strong experience with Court of Session procedures.
Proven ability to handle and analyse large volumes of complex evidence.
Solid understanding of data protection legislation in a legal context.
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal. Additional info:
Salary:Starting Salary from £60,010 (negotiable) LTD day rate: £314.90 and a PAYE (inc) £267.31
