Assistant Team Manager - Fostering | Reading | £42ph Hybrid
Location: The Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading, RG1 2LU
Contract: Assistant Team Manager - Independent Fostering Agency
Rate: Up to £42 per hour
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days office-based, including visits)
Start: October 2025 (transition to Reading Borough Council in-house fostering)
Join Reading Borough Council's fostering service as an Assistant Team Manager during an exciting period of transition. You'll lead a small team of social workers, overseeing foster carer assessments, supervision, and support for 53 fostering households. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring continuity, quality, and improvement as services move in-house. You'll manage staff performance, quality assure assessments, support carer recruitment and training, and contribute to service development.
Essential:
Significant fostering experience
Social Work England registration
Management and supervisory experience
Enhanced DBS
