Job Description

Following recent investment in additional management capacity across the service, we are now looking for passionate Assistant Team Managers in the Children and Young Peoples Disability Teams who can commit to making a difference to our children in Medway. Reporting to a Team Manager, as an Assistant Team Manager you will lead and manage a small team of social workers and create a supportive and collaborative team environment. Assistant Team Managers do not hold a caseload. You will deliver high quality supervision and support social workers in the management of cases ensuring that high quality practice is delivered to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people. As an Assistance Team Manager you will ensure assessments, care planning, and interventions are timely, effective, and child-centred. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice. You will work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals, and other partners. You will be joining an experienced and dedicated social work team who have relationship and strengths-based work with children and families at the core of their practice. The team offers support to children and young people who have a disability and are supported under Child in Need plans, Child Protection plans and Children who are in Care. We also support children who require Mental Health Capacity Assessments and Court of Protection Applications. Children matter in Medway, and so do you. About You You will hold a recognised Social Work qualification eg. Degree in Social Work, PGC in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England. * You will have successfully completed your ASYE * You will have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
