ASSOCIATE CIVIL ENGINEER - DERBY - SALARY £60K+ plus extensive benefits
My client an award-winning, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced and driven Associate Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Civil Engineer for a highly motivated professional to work on a diverse and technically challenging range of civil engineering projects, with an opportunity to progress to Director level.
The Associate Civil Engineer will be instrumental in delivering innovative highway and drainage solutions, leading high-profile projects from concept through to completion. This is a key strategic hire where you’ll manage projects, mentor engineers, support business development, and contribute to the leadership of a growing civil engineering division.

Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and delivery of highways and drainage schemes (concept to construction)
* Produce and oversee technical designs, drawings, and calculations (QBar, attenuation, soakaway, network analysis)
* Prepare and manage S104, S106, S185, S184, S278, and S38 applications
* Write and review technical reports such as Flood Risk Assessments, Transport Statements, and Drainage Strategies
* Ensure quality, time, and budgetary targets are met across all assigned projects
* Promote sustainable design solutions in line with BREEAM and CDM regulations
* Act as a technical leader and key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
Requirements:
* BSc/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum 2:1 or equivalent)
* Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE or equivalent)
* At least 10 years of post-qualification experience in civil engineering
* Proven expertise in highway and drainage design and relevant software tools
* Confident leader with strong communication and project management skills
* Experience in mentoring junior team members and line management
* Commercially aware and capable of supporting work-winning activity
* Full UK driving licence and access to transport
