We are working with a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy who are seeking an Associate Director to help shape and grow its Structural and Civil Engineering teams within its well-established Reading office.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a key leadership role-combining team development, client engagement, and strategic growth. The successful candidate will play a central part in driving business development, managing high-performing teams, and contributing to the collaborative culture the firm is known for.
Working alongside a talented group of engineers and specialists, the Associate Partner will take responsibility for nurturing a delivery-focused team that reflects the organisation's values of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Responsibilities include:
Leading business development efforts and maintaining strong client relationships to secure both new and repeat business
Taking financial responsibility for the performance and profitability of the Structural and Civils teams
Recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineering talent, including the creation of tailored training and progression plans
Supporting strategic hires and contributing to broader cross-office resourcing and collaboration
Representing the business at industry events and promoting its presence in the market
Ensuring the team remains informed and compliant with evolving industry legislation and standards
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in a senior or leadership role within structural or civil engineering
A relevant degree in civil or structural engineering (or closely related discipline)
Strong business development acumen and existing professional network
Demonstrable leadership skills, particularly in managing and developing teams
Evidence of continuous professional development
Proficiency with key IT and engineering software packages
