Responsibilities and duties of the Associate Director of Town Planning role
Reporting to the Directors, you will:
Drive business development and grow the Scottish branch, securing new project opportunities
Demonstrate leadership with a commercial focus, helping to steer the business through its next phase of growth
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead stakeholder engagement activities
Lead planning services for strategic infrastructure and renewable energy projects, including programme and budget management
Manage client enquiries, prepare bids, and maintain strong client relationships
Mentor and support junior and senior planners, contributing to the development of a high-performing team
Stay informed on planning and energy policy developments in Scotland and the wider UK
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Chartered Member of the RTPI
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within the onshore wind sector
Excellent knowledge of the Scottish planning system
Proven success in managing planning applications in onshore or offshore wind
Strong commercial awareness and business development skills
Full, clean UK driving licence
Personal skills
