Job Description

Our client is a specialist design practice with an integrated approach supporting our clients on projects from conception, through consent and during construction. Our holistic approach ensures both innovative and deliverable design solutions and supports our vision to create better places through good design. What You'll Do: The role would focus on providing drainage and highway infrastructure design, working on design and delivery of large strategic housing sites (predominately in Hampshire). You will also support and collaborate with project managers from across the business to meet the needs and expectations of our clients. Your ability to learn, adapt and provide new thinking will be invaluable to the role. What We're Looking For: We are seeking an Associate (or a Principal with aspirations for an Associate role) to join Surrey / Hampshire office. Interested in career progression (incl managing a small direct Technical Team as well as other resources across the business to deliver the Client brief). Interested in delivering the infrastructure for a large strategic urban extension project [min 5 years, max 10 years] You will need to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week, plus a day per week on site in Hampshire. You will be organised, capable of managing multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively, and demonstrate good time management. Additionally, you will be self-motivated, able to provide engineering solutions to problems, and produce high-quality reports. Experience A degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a focus on infrastructure or highways and drainage. Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with either the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT). A minimum of 10 years' experience working on UK highway infrastructure projects, including feasibility, detailed design and delivery. Experience liaising directly with clients, managing communications, and understanding project requirements from inception through to completion. Experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams and with external stakeholders such as local authorities, planning consultants, and utility providers. Proven experience in project management, including coordination of design teams, meeting deadlines, and delivering work within agreed scopes and budgets. Technical design experience using DMRB, MCHW, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20 and other current UK design standards and guidance. Extensive experience in the design and preparation of Section 38, Section 278 and Section 102/104 & S185 technical submissions, including liaison with adopting authorities. On-site experience monitoring or supervising highway works to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications. Familiarity with infrastructure design requirements in support of planning applications and discharge of planning conditions
