Associate Mechanical Engineer – Building Services (MEP) Location: London Office Business Type: Multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy Employment Type: Full-Time Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home) Salary: £75k - £85k per annum About The Role There is an opportunity for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. They are known for designing sustainable, low-carbon, and people-centred building environments. This is a senior role for an engineer who enjoys leading complex projects, managing client relationships, and guiding a team of building services professionals. They work across a wide variety of projects in the UK and internationally, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, leisure, education, heritage, and cultural developments. This role offers the opportunity to shape projects from concept through to delivery while contributing to the growth and strategic direction of their Mechanical Building Services team. Why Join? Key Responsibilities Project and Client Leadership Lead a portfolio of Mechanical Building Services projects from concept to completion. Act as the primary client contact on key projects. Ensure projects are delivered to the highest technical, programme, and commercial standards. Prepare proposals, presentations, and manage project fees. Build strong, long-term client relationships. Team Leadership and Development Lead and mentor a team of engineers. Oversee day-to-day workflow, resource planning, and team coordination. Support senior engineers’ development while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and training. Technical Expertise Act as a specialist in Mechanical Building Services Engineering. Provide expert guidance on design strategy, procurement, risk management, and technical challenges. Apply strong analytical and design skills across a variety of MEP systems and building types. Promote best practice in digital delivery, CAD, and BIM processes. Business Development and Strategy Support client development and contribute to securing new opportunities. Represent them at meetings, pitches, and industry events. Contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvements.   About You Chartered Engineer with 10+ years’ experience in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering. Proven record delivering MEP systems across different building types. Experienced as a Project Engineer or Project Lead. Strong communicator, confident presenting to clients and leading multidisciplinary teams. Comfortable managing commercial and financial aspects of projects.
