The Opportunity Our client is seeking a highly motivated Associate or Senior Associate to join their Science & Research team in London. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within the science and research sectors. Applicants may have either a mechanical or electrical engineering background. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative team known for delivering high-profile projects. These range from commercial laboratory fit-outs for developers to complex facilities for leading higher education institutions and research organisations. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership Manage the technical delivery of mechanical or electrical design services for multidisciplinary science and research projects. Develop initial strategic design concepts aligned with project briefs and regulatory requirements. Represent the project team in client meetings, translating client briefs into actionable design solutions. Team Leadership Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, including graduates and apprentices. Work closely with the team leader to monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and overall delivery performance. Foster a collaborative team culture that supports knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Work Winning Engage actively in business development activities, contributing to proposals and client relationship management. Support the growth of the Science & Research team through strategic market engagement and thought leadership. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have: A strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering design within the built environment. Proven experience delivering projects in the science and research sector (or similar complex technical sectors). Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships. Strong leadership qualities with a passion for developing junior colleagues. Commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial management.
