Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic manufacturing environment? We're seeking Associate Operators to join our team in the Elastomers W115 department, producing silicone bases at our Cardiff Rd, Barry CF63 2YL facility.
About the Role:
As an Associate Operator, you'll be an integral part of our manufacturing operations, working rotating shifts within a team to support our chemical manufacturing process. The Elastomers W115 department utilizes large-scale batch mixers and a semi-automated extrusion process for packaging.
Key Responsibilities:
Control equipment and systems used in processing chemical substances into industrial or consumer products.
Monitor and record process conditions, including temperatures, pressures, vacuum, material flow, and process stability.
Understand and adhere to environmental regulations and requirements.
Train in advanced process and control technologies.
Analyze laboratory and sampling results to maintain process and quality standards.
Learn a variety of chemical processes and contribute ideas for improvement.
The Elastomers Lead Operator will guide the team in ensuring all processes meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, organising shift tasks for maximum team effectiveness.What We're Looking For
We need highly motivated individuals who are team players and committed to safety and quality.
Candidate Requirements:
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to hear and respond to alarms.
Capable of lifting 35 lbs or more.
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Willingness to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and work in inclement weather.Minimum Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age.
5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Mathematics.
Computer literate.
At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Successful pass grade for our pre-assessment.
