Associate Quantity Surveyor

An established and respected construction consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Quantity Surveyor to join their Glasgow office. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Associate Quantity Surveyor who is ready to take on a senior leadership role, with a clear and structured route towards Director.
The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor will play an important part in the continued growth of the Glasgow team, managing key client relationships, overseeing project delivery and supporting the development of junior staff. This role would suit an experienced Associate Quantity Surveyor who enjoys both project delivery and the commercial side of consultancy work.
The Role
As an Associate Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading projects across a varied portfolio while helping to grow and strengthen the consultancy's presence in Glasgow. Duties will include:
Leading cost management services from feasibility through to final account
Managing key client relationships and acting as a trusted commercial adviser
Preparing cost plans, tender documentation and procurement strategies
Overseeing valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts
Managing and reviewing the work of junior Quantity Surveyors
Supporting business development and identifying new opportunities
Assisting with team growth, recruitment and mentoring
Working closely with senior management on the development of the Glasgow officeThe Associate Quantity Surveyor will be given increasing responsibility for clients, team management and business development, providing a genuine platform for progression.
Experience Required
The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor should have:
A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
Chartered status with the RICS (MRICS) or equivalent relevant professional qualification
Strong consultancy / PQS experience
Experience managing projects and client relationships independently
Good knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and cost management
Experience mentoring or managing junior staff
Strong commercial awareness and communication skillsWhat's on Offer
