Job Description

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced candidate to work with a Nottinghamshire-based Local Authority for their Asylum Outreach Worker vacancy. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week. The role sits within the Authority’s Aftercare Service within the Children, Families and Cultural Services team. In this role, you will provide vital support to young people leaving the care system, helping them to transition into independent adulthood. You will manage complex individual cases, work collaboratively with partner agencies, and ensure that all young people receive the tailored support they need. Main Duties * Manage a caseload of young people leaving care, providing assessment, planning, intervention, and coordination of services * Work in partnership with various agencies to develop support strategies * Attend and contribute to meetings, including statutory reviews, case conferences, and planning meetings * Ensure accurate and timely recording of case work using both manual and electronic systems * Carry out home visits and meetings in a range of settings such as hospitals, district councils, and custodial units * Provide financial assessments and manage budgets for individual young people’s needs * Deliver group independence training sessions and contribute to the development of service-wide initiatives * Participate in duty arrangements, supporting young people during crisis and by appointment * Advocate for young people, ensuring their voices are central in the planning and delivery of services * Maintain awareness of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures Essential Criteria * Educated to GCSE level (Grade C or above in English and Maths) * Relevant professional qualification (i.e. NVQ Level 3) * Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle * Strong understanding of key legislation including the Children Act (1989, 2004), Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000, and Children and Social Work Act 2017 * Experience working with diverse groups of young people through paid or voluntary roles * Proven ability to form positive, professional relationships and intervene effectively * Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills If your skills match the above criteria, please apply with your updated CV
