Are you an experienced Attendance Officer with strong knowledge of attendance procedures and a passion for improving pupil engagement?
GSL Education are looking to appoint a proactive Attendance Officer to join a school in Chesterfield. This role is crucial in promoting high attendance, building positive relationships with families, and supporting students to achieve their full potential. The position requires a confident professional who is comfortable conducting home visits and liaising directly with parents and carers.
Key Responsibilities of Attendance Officer:
Monitor, track and report on student attendance and punctuality.
Conduct home visits to discuss attendance concerns and promote positive engagement.
Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to improve attendance.
Implement attendance strategies and contribute to safeguarding processes.
Maintain accurate attendance records and produce reports for senior leadership.
Engage with students to encourage and reward good attendance.
Requirements:
Proven experience in an attendance or pastoral role within a school setting.
Strong knowledge of attendance procedures, safeguarding and child protection.
Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence with business insurance (essential for home visits).
Proficiency with attendance management systems (SIMS or similar).
An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
