We are working with a highly respected and growing accountancy practice in Manchester that is seeking an experienced Audit Responsible Individual (RI) to join their senior leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified auditor with RI status to take on a pivotal role within a progressive and ambitious firm.
The Role:
* Acting as Responsible Individual for statutory audits and signing off audit reports in accordance with UK auditing regulations
* Leading, planning, and reviewing complex audit engagements across a diverse client base, including SMEs, larger corporates, and specialist sectors
* Driving audit quality by embedding best practice, technical accuracy, and compliance with ethical standards
* Developing and implementing audit methodology improvements to ensure efficiency and high-quality delivery
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing strategic advice and identifying opportunities for added value
* Leading, mentoring, and coaching a high-performing audit team, developing future leaders
* Working closely with Partners and the leadership team to contribute to the firm’s business strategy and growth objectives
* Playing an active role in business development, attending networking events, and supporting tender processes
* Monitoring regulatory updates and ensuring the firm remains ahead of legislative and technical changes
* Managing departmental budgets and ensuring profitability of the audit function
About You:
* ACA or ACCA qualified with current RI status
* Significant experience managing audits for owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and/or larger entities
* Strong leadership and people development skills
* Commercially astute, with the ability to maintain and grow client relationships
