Job Description
Our client is an established accountancy practice offering more than most mid-sized firms. They combine the service and expertise you would expect from a large organisation with the approachability and personal involvement of a mid-sized practice.
They are seeking an experienced Audit Senior with a background in accountancy practice, used to working across multiple clients within audit. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys client interaction and being part of a collaborative team.
Are you the right person for the job?
* ACCA/ACA part-qualified
* Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards
* At least 3 years’ auditing experience working across multiple clients
* Confident in leading audit engagements from planning through to completion
* Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards
* Experience in preparing and auditing consolidated financial statements
* Competent in supervising and mentoring junior audit staff
* Strong Excel skills, including formulas and functions
* Excellent attention to detail, organisational and presentational skills
* Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients at different levels of accounting knowledge
* Self-managing with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
What will your role look like?
* Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion for a portfolio of clients, reporting directly to manager/partner
* Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing guidance and performance feedback
* Identify and communicate audit issues and recommendations to clients and senior management
* Prepare financial statements from trial balance ensuring disclosures are in accordance with financial reporting standards
* Liaise with clients to build strong relationships and ensure timely delivery of audit work
* Assist in developing audit strategies and risk assessments tailored to each engagement
* Assist in implementing new AI tools
* Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and ensure work is completed to a high standard and on schedule
